EP: Initial Appearance in Rule 5 Proceedings as to Defendant Brian Alan Jones held on 3/6/2019. Defendant Brian Alan Jones present and in custody.
Defendant sworn to the financial affidavit and the request for court appointed counsel is granted. Melinda Yamaga and the Office of the Federal Public Defender are appointed to represent the defendant.
Defendant has reviewed the complaint and understand the charges against him. The defendant will waive his right to an identity hearing and production of the warrant, and to a preliminary hearing in this district, reserving his right to have a preliminary hearing in the Middle District of Florida, and requests a detention hearing. Court questions the defendant, and finds that the defendant knowingly and voluntarily waives his right to an identity hearing and production of the warrant, and to a preliminary hearing.
Waiver of Rule 5 & 5.1 Hearings signed and filed. A Detention Hearing is set for 3/8/19 @ 10:00 a.m. before Magistrate Judge Chang.
By agreement of the parties, the Court will retain the Commitment to Another District form for consideration after the detention hearing.
Defendant remanded to the custody of the USM.
